Regular oil changes are vital to the long-term life of your vehicle’s engine. 	Fuel System Cleaning	Engines thrive on clean fuel. A fuel system cleaning from Woodward Tire helps restore engine performance, lower emissions, extend engine life and improve fuel economy. Three-step program cleans the intake manifold/runner, fuel injectors or carburetor, valves, combustion chambers and throttle body. Removes carbon deposits and water from the fuel system. Lubricates while cleaning.
	Cooling System Flush and Fill	A healthy cooling system protects your vehicle's engine from dangerous overheating. Routine cooling system flushes are essential. Removes rust, scale, sludge, and corrosion deposits from the entire cooling system, not just the radiator. Eliminates acidic mixtures, restores freeze/boil protection and helps prevent electrolysis. Includes up to two gallons of new coolant.
	Transmission Fluid Exchange	More than 13-million transmissions fail every year. Periodic transmission fluid exchanges can help keep your transmission from becoming a statistic. Complete flush removes nearly all fluid from the system, not just the fluid in the pan. Worn fluid loses its ability to properly protect internal transmission components.
	Brake Fluid Exchange	Exchanging the fluid in the brake system helps extend the life of the brake system parts, including the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, ABS components, and hoses. Includes removal and safe disposal of old fluid and replacement with new fluid.
	Wiper Blades	Most wiper blade manufacturers recommend changing the blades every Spring and Fall for best performance. Have your wiper blades checked with every oil change. Woodward Tire can help you choose from a wide range of wiper blades.
	Belt Replacement	Engine drive belts operate engine components such as water pumps, power steering pumps, alternators and more. When belts wear down, they are at risk of a sudden break which could leave your vehicle stranded. Woodward Tire will perform an inspection of drive belts for cracking, fraying, deterioration or misalignment, and replacement belts where necessary.
	Headlights and Taillights	Most drivers know when their vehicle's headlight burns out. But what about the many other lights that are essential for safe driving? Woodward Tire will inspect all vehicle lights and replace where necessary
	Radiator and Coolant Hoses	Radiator and coolant hoses are essential engine components that help prevent engine overheating. As these hoses age, they can become brittle or weak and eventually burst or leak. A failed radiator or coolant hose can leave a vehicle stranded and can cause severe engine damage. Woodward Tire will inspect the condition of hoses and replace where necessary.
	Power Steering Fluid Exchange	Restore quiet, smooth, uniform steering control. Power Steering treatment reduces wear and heat, which can reduce steering control and lead to premature failure of the power steering unit. Removes contaminants, deposits, abrasive metal shavings and debris from power steering fluid system.
	Differential Fluid Exchange	Removes moisture and dirt from the system, provides fresh lubrication to extend the differential performance especially in 4x4s and light trucks driven in severe service. Includes removal and safe disposal of old fluid and replacement with new fluid.

Under-hood and under-car services

Air Conditioning
Did you know that without regular maintenance an air conditioner loses about 5% of its original efficiency per year? This means that without proper maintenance, your air conditioning unit may be performing as poorly as vehicles that much older. But, you can still recover most of that lost efficiency by scheduling an appointment with one of our service professionals—we understand all aspects of AC repair, from modern computerized components to environmental disposal concerns. Today's AC systems are fairly complex, and new improvements are always being initiated.

• The air conditioning system shares air ducts, controls and a blower with the heater, but has its own refrigerant system.
  
  It is comprised of the following components:
  
  Compressor - a belt-driven device that acts as a pump to pressurize and circulate the refrigerant through the system. The compressor is the core of your vehicle's air conditioning system.
  
  Condensor - The condenser's primary function is to cool the refrigerant.  It is a heat dissipating apparatus that radiates heat released by compressed gases and condenses them into high pressure liquids.
  
  Receiver/Dryer or Accumulator - The receiver is a metal container that serves as a storage receptacle for the refrigerant. It's also referred to as a drier because it absorbs moisture from the refrigerant and filters out particles of debris and harmful acids that would otherwise harm your AC system.

Orifice Tube or Expansion Valve - a metering device that controls the flow of refrigerant throughout the system.

Evaporator Core – designed to remove heat from the inside of your vehicle, the evaporator allows the refrigerant to absorb heat, causing it to boil and change into a vapor. When this occurs, the vapor is removed from the evaporator by the compressor, cooling your car and reducing humidity.

Batteries and the electrical system
You can have the most meticulously maintained vehicle on the road, but it won't start without the right battery, properly installed and appropriately fitted for your driving needs. From ignition to door locks, your car battery is the catalyzing force that allows you to get around. The following is a brief overview of the electrical system that makes transportation possible:

• Battery - when the engine is off, the battery provides the required power to the rest of the system, as well as during start-up (cranking). It also supplements the power from the charging system during periods of high demand.

When your car's engine is off, the battery supplies electricity to all of the electrical system components, including the essential power required to start your vehicle. In periods of high demand, the battery also supplements power from the charging system.

2. Charging System
The charging system is heart of your vehicle's electrical system, consisting of three main mechanisms: the belt-driven alternator, various electrical circuits, and the voltage regulator. The alternator has two roles. A) it provides power to the electrical system, and b) recharges the battery after the car has started. The various circuits act as conduits for electrical power and the voltage regulator controls the voltage passed through these circuits. Remember, all of these components require consistent attention and maintenance. It's not just your battery that needs to be replaced every so often; if one of these components should fail, that pulsating power source is now reduced to a lifeless, twenty pound paper weight.

3. Starting System:
Did you know that the starter system process consumes much more electrical power than anything else your car does? That's because the starting system consists of three components working one after another:  1. the ignition switch  2. the starter relay (or solenoid) and 3. the starter motor. Turning the key causes a small amount of current to pass through the starter relay, allowing a stronger current to flow through the battery cables and into the starter motor. The starter motor cranks the engine, forcing the piston to create enough suction that draws a fuel and air mixture into the cylinder. The ignition system creates a spark that ignites the mixture, and combustion is born. The electrical system powers everything from the ignition and fuel systems to accessories such as your radio, headlights and wipers. The electrical system is, in turn, powered by the engine.

Belts and Hoses
Among the equipment in your vehicle, belts and hoses have the shortest lifespan. Due to constant exposure to heat, vibration and harmful chemicals, the belt and hose components will eventually crack, leak, fray and peel. If not promptly replaced and maintained, this could spell disaster for the performance of your vehicle. Simply evaluating the condition of your belts and hoses only on their appearance is not enough! Diligent inspection is required. Here is a sample of how we ensure belt and hose quality:

BELTS and HOSES The condition of the belts and hoses are recorded and compared to manufacturer's and industry specifications. It is vital to inspect your vehicle's belts and hoses on a regular basis because often a damaged piece has serious effects on the condition of your vehicle. Research shows that while most people are attentive when it comes to regular oil changes, they hardly devote any concern at all to the condition of their belts and hoses. A leaking hose or a cracked belt will cause you more trouble than an overdue oil change ever will! The following is a brief description of some of the different belts and hoses we inspect:

Drive Belts
The engine itself is used as a power source to drive some of your vehicle's accessories. Instead of being supplied by electric power, these accessories rely on a series of pulleys and belts to operate. Some of these accessories include:

• Power steering pump
• Alternator
• Air conditioning compressor
• Radiator cooling fan
• Water pump

Most older vehicles require a single serpentine belt to power these accessories (as opposed to several individual belts)

Hoses
If you think of hoses as your vehicle's circulatory system, then you'll understand how important they are. Channeling car fluids to their correct destination, hoses are composed of two rubber layers with fabric in between. Types of hoses vary on make and model, but typically they include:

• Fuel hose:  sends gasoline from the gas tank to the engine
• Radiator hose:  delivers coolant to the engine
• Power steering hose:  connects power steering pump to steering equipment
• Heater hose:  provides coolant to heater core

Brakes
Your brake system is critical to your safety. While certain brake problems, such as worn brake pads, develop gradually and may be noticeable to the driver – many brake system problems offer no warning. If your vehicle isn’t slowing or stopping like it should, don’t chance it! Problems with the braking system on your vehicle are serious and if you wait to bring it in when there is a problem, it may make the problem worse. Bring in your vehicle for a free inspection of your automotive brakes
Woodward Tire will perform a complete brake inspection on your vehicle. Be sure to check your owner’s manual for specified brake maintenance intervals - typically every 12,000 to 18,000 miles. Exhaust
The exhaust system is more than just a muffler, it is a series of pipes that run under your vehicle, connected with your muffler and your catalytic converter. The main function of your exhaust system is to control noise and to funnel exhaust fumes away from passengers.

A vehicle's exhaust system routes waste gases from the engine to the rear of the vehicle, where they are discharged into the atmosphere. Exhaust gases contain dangerous substances such as vehicle carbon monoxide, which can be hazardous if allowed to flow into the passenger housing of the vehicle.

The exhaust system also converts pollutants into less harmful byproducts, reduces the noise of the engine and directs exhaust gases so they can be used to heat air and fuel before they go into the engine's cylinders to be burned.

Finally, the exhaust system provides just the right amount of backpressure into the engine to improve its fuel-burning efficiency and increase performance.

Key components of your exhaust system include:

• Exhaust pipes, designed specifically for each vehicle model to properly route exhaust to the back of the vehicle
• Exhaust manifold (some engines have two) which acts like a funnel, collecting exhaust gases from all cylinders and releasing it
• Catalytic converter, designed to reduce the amount of harmful emission products by transforming pollutants into water vapor and less harmful gases
• Muffler, a metal container with holes, baffles and chambers that muffles exhaust noise.
• Resonator, works with the muffler to reduce noise
• Tail pipe (found at the back of the vehicle), is designed to carry exhaust gases away from the vehicle

Oil, Lube and Filters

Drain and refill radiator with up to two gallons of antifreeze

Transmission Maintenance
For those of you who aren't mechanically savvy, you probably understand that transmission problems are among the most expensive repairs required for your vehicle. That's because your transmission is a complex system of gears that transmit mechanical power to your engine, ultimately determining the rate of speed you travel. Transmissions convert this power from the engine so that it can supply high torque at low speeds, in addition to selecting which gears are appropriate based on the driving conditions. This is especially true with automatic transmissions—by far the most popular transmissions found in the US. Rather than using a clutch to engage the transmission, automatic transmissions use a torque converter (between the engine and transmission) to control the number of gears when driving. Transmission Service
Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) lubricates and cools your vehicle's automatic transmission. It also serves as a transport medium for vital additives such as seal softeners, anti-foaming agents, lubricants and detergents.

To extend the life and improve the performance of your transmission, it's important to have its ATF replaced completely according to your manufacturer's recommended schedule. That's because heat and mileage cause the vital additives in ATF to become oxidized, depleted, and inert. And worn-out ATF can result in rough shifting, accelerated wear and even transmission failure.
